When I saw Kurt’s work, I instantly fell in love with his black and white images. His love for art is evident in his stunning photographs. He has the ability to create iconic images as he captures moments throughout a wedding celebration.
There are so many things I love about this image, without exception the composition is perfect. The play of light and dark immediately draw your eye to the birds at the bottom of the stairs. The architectural symmetry adds to the visual interest creating a beautiful photograph.

I loved this story of Kelly and Peter’s courtship and thought it would be fun to share with you.
I had the biggest crush on him, it was the curly hair and green eyes. After 8 months of emails, two dogs, two graduate degrees, two new nieces and one nephew, countless shows, festivals, baseball games and adventures did we get engaged. We were hiking in Telluride and wandered off the trail to find a spot to rest by the river overlooking a waterfall. Next thing I know Peter is talking, crying and down on one knee proposing…it is all a blur and honestly I don’t remember what he said but I will never forget how he made me feel…so loved. - Kelly
Congratulations Kelly and Peter!

Though we grew up four blocks away from each other in our hometown, Doug and I chose Grafton because there is simply no other place like it in the world. Within an hour of our engagement, we knew we wanted to have our wedding in Vermont. The lush natural beauty of Grafton was inspiring to Doug who works as a landscape architect, and the great literary heritage of the Old Tavern spoke to my interests as a professor of literature and writing. Grafton, Vermont was a perfect marriage of our own loves, and we felt incredibly lucky to have our wedding in such an amazing place. Fit with a white steeple church and beautiful early American architecture, Grafton is suspended in the 19th century. The quintessential New England village provided the perfect small town backdrop for a summer wedding; the town swelled with our closest friends and family and Grafton became our own for the weekend. We also knew that the setting would lend its vintage charm and simple, rustic elegance to the celebrations: we dreamed of mason jars, fresh flowers, river stones, antique furnishings and local Vermont produce in our preparation and all of those pieces came together throughout the weekend. – Kate
